FoodChain and UK Food Connection host first tilapia harvest

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 25, 2023) — FoodChain, a nonprofit organization increasing access to locally sourced, fresh food that is a Cornerstone Community Innovation Partner, and the University of Kentucky Food Connection are partnering to host the first tilapia harvest from the Cornerstone aquaponics system.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 3, 2023) —The University of Kentucky Student Film Festival is returning Friday, April 28. The event, which starts at 7 p.m. in the Gatton Student Center Worsham Theater, is free and open to the public.

UK, FCPS to celebrate Girls Who Game partnership

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 18, 2022) — Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) students who participate in Girls Who Game, will celebrate a recently launched program in partnership with the University of Kentucky this Saturday, Jan. 21. The STEM-focused, learner-driven program, Girls Who Game, was created by Dell Technologies, Intel and Microsoft to engage female students by providing opportunities to develop STEM and leadership skills while gaming.

UK x Gen.G kicks off esports program with event for middle and high school students

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 4, 2022) — The University of Kentucky, in collaboration with Gen.G Esports, will be hosting a free community event for middle and high school students to kick off a new esports program on campus. The event will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 (Election Day), at The Cornerstone. Early drop off and late pick up will be available to those who may need scheduling accommodations. Lunch will also be provided for the students who attend.

UK Social Work launching Oculus VR support group for foster teens

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 7, 2022) — Building on the success of Adoption Support for Kentucky (ASK), the College of Social Work (CoSW) at the University of Kentucky is expanding its virtual reality (VR) program to support teens in foster care.

UK Participating in 2021 Overwatch U.S.-Korea Virtual College Esports Tournament

The 2021 Overwatch U.S.-Korea Virtual College Esports Tournament will be held in Busan, South Korea, a mecca of esports. Eight students from the University of Kentucky will be participating. 

Gen.G and UK Announce Slate of Esports Summer Activities

Today, global esports organization Gen.G and the University of Kentucky announced a lineup of summer programming to engage esports fans, gamers and students including the ChallengHER series with two different tournaments taking place, as well as a back-to-school welcome week and a fundraiser with proceeds benefiting Kentucky Children’s Hospital.
